How Figma organizes data and how the online editor works
In Figma, you can collaborate with other people. You can give them access with three types of links: files, projects, and teams.
In Figma files, you can create your design. These are virtual spaces where we work on our stuff together with other designers or with clients.
Each file has a link you can copy and share with others. If someone asks you for a “Figma link,” most likely they mean a link to a file.
Here is how your Figma client could look after you log in:
Drafts is a folder where you can create your first files. By default, Figma has a couple of demo files in it.
There can be a lot of files in Figma—hundreds in large projects and you have a good way to group them. When you create an account, a demo project is created. To see it, open All projects in the left menu.
There can be only one project on a free account.
There are also teams. In them, you can grant access to your team participants. When working with other people, you can invite them to individual file. But if the project is big, It’s easier to grant access to a whole team or to a project.
Example: There’s a team /designer. It contains a project Figma Guide, and inside it there is a file Lesson 1.
